We were happy to receive the call from Lynne Falgout of Old Navy, inviting us to participate in the Freaky Friday event held at the Old Navy store in Jenkintown PA. This event was held to spread the word for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Philadelphia organization. Various businesses from the local community set up tables in the Old Navy store in support of this charity. The Komen Philadelphia Affiliate is responsible for 13 counties in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Twenty-five percent of net proceeds generated by the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate supports the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grant Program to help fund groundbreaking breast cancer research. Seventy-five percent is used to empower people against breast cancer here at home, throughout the communities in which you live. Held every year on Mother’s Day, the Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure has become the area’s annual tradition for celebrating this special holiday, honoring breast cancer survivors, remembering loved ones and uniting as one community in the hope of a cure. Old Navy is a supporter of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and has been collecting donations for the charity. Participating businesses in tonights Freak Friday event were, Old Navy, Susan Komen for the Cure, Philly Pretzel Factory of Abington, Tarot Card readings by Bethany, Beth Curcio of Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Costello Photography in Jenkintown Pa.
