100 can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. In hide and seek you can count to 100. They tell you to count backwards from 100 before undergoing surgery. There 100 pennies in a dollar. All of which seem so insignificant because today, May 2, 2010, Marie Jethon turned 100. She wore a dark blue dress and sparkling earrings. Her eyes were bright and she smiled and hugged and kissed everyone. In 1952, at the age of 42, Marie and her four children, Ozzie, Erika, Arthur and Heddy left what was then East Germany and came to the United States by way of Ellis Island. Today, she celebrated with close family and friends along with three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
