The wedding day started early for Ritz and Thomas. While Ritz was getting her hair and makeup done at aunt Lisa’s house in Sewell NJ by stylist Koji Higashino and his staff from New York, Thomas and his groomsmen were out on the front porch trying to prove his worthiness to marry Ritz by participating in a sequence of questions, answers and stunts that were created by Ritz’s bridesmaids. After a short time, Thomas was finally let into the house after signing a blank check at Ritz’s request. At this point of the day, Ritz wore a beautiful traditional red Chinese dress. Thomas saw her for the first time upstairs in her dressing room, then carried her down the steps to a waiting crowd of family and close friends. Participating in the traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony were Ritz’s parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Each were served tea and the couple received gifts and more importantly, words of wisdom from their relatives. We then headed to South Philly to Thomas’ mothers house where a second Tea Ceremony was performed. Then it was off to Bryn Mawr College for the ceremony, but on the way, a brief stop was made at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for a few photos of Ritz and the girls……..Thomas and his groomsmen were missing in action, but caught up to us at Bryn Mawr College. Once there, Ritz changed into a traditional white wedding gown and veil. We set up a private moment for Ritz and Thomas to see one another for the first time….Thomas hadn’t seen her wedding gown. The ceremony was outdoors at Bryn Mawr College. Ritz and Thomas have known each other since they were three years old and attended school together most of their lives. Their eighth grade teacher Mr. Ray Kane, performed their wedding ceremony while the Jie Jin string trio played in the background. After the ceremony, photos of families, the bridal party and the newlyweds were taken on the grounds of Bryn Mawr College. The couple and bridal party got into white stretch limo driven by Zark Limousine of New Jersey. We all headed to the reception at Joy Tsin Lau in Chinatown at 10th and Race Street in Philadelphia. There, about 210 guests enjoyed the wonderful food and danced to music provided by Kyle of Synergetic Sounds and Lighting. A fabulous ice sculpture of a ferris wheel was carved by David Fong of Ice Illusions. Ritz and Thomas got engaged on a ferris wheel. They will honeymoon in Kaui and Maui.
